Bataan celebrates Indigenous Peoples Day

In celebration of the 2022 Indigenous Peoples Month, anchored on the theme, “Pagsasakatuparan ng mga Katutubong Karapatan at Kapakanan Batay sa Kanilang Pangarap at Hangarin,” the Ayta Magbukun tribe held the Indigenous Peoples Day in Bangkal, Abucay, Bataan last October 21, 2022.

One of the highlights of the said celebration, which is part of the 25th IPRA Commemoration under R.A. 8371, known as The Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Act of 1997, is a Fun Run spearheaded by the IP Youth.

Bangkal Tribal Chieftain, Rosita N. Sison; BM Rosita N. Sison; Chief Service Center, NCIP Dinalupihan, Engr. Jones Conception G. Binwag; MSC Philippines headed by Fr. Edwin Borlasa; officials from Abucay LGU, Tourism Department, DepEd Bataan, Cultural Heritage Preservation Division, IP teachers, Ayta Magbukun Tribe, and IPs from Samal attended the event.
